Two Day Structured Literacy Overview
This two-day workshop will include:
- how the brain learns to read
- the principles and elements of Structured Literacy
- orthographic mapping and cognitive load theory
- the screening and teaching of Phonological Awareness
- following a cumulative scope and sequence to teach beginning and catch-up readers
- aligning assessment with Structured Literacy
- an introduction to The Code for the teaching of spelling
