About the Event

We’re excited to introduce our new two-day Writing Workshop for Years 3–8 teachers in 2026. Grounded in the work of Dr Anita Archer, and developed with guidance and mentoring from Dr Nathaniel Swain, this workshop provides a deep, practical dive into evidence-based writing instruction.

Teachers will:

👍 Build their knowledge of syntax and sentence construction, bridging the gap between oral language and written expression through systematic, sentence-level instruction.

👍 Master the transition of individual sentences to paragraphs, providing a blueprint for successful multi-paragraph writing.

And teachers will learn how to:

👍 Link writing tasks to a wide range of meaningful contexts, to strengthen student thinking and deepen content knowledge across curriculum areas.

👍 Support all learners to clearly express their ideas, creativity, and knowledge, reducing cognitive load for struggling writers while extending and challenging high-achieving students.

Investment

The event is $550+ GST  per person. Morning tea and lunch provided.

Registration closes 12 May 2026, 12:00 am

We're dedicated to bridging the gap between evidence-based research and the teaching of reading, spelling and writing.

With training that aligns with the science of reading, teachers can understand and teach the English spelling system for both reading and writing with confidence and success.
