For children to become fluent readers they must become increasingly automatic at reading single words, and the only way to achieve this is decoding words multiple times. With three ways to play, the aim of this game is to practise decoding words to build single word fluency. Ka-BLAM! Box 1 practices the simple alphabetic code in consonant-vowel-consonant (CVC) words.
Ka-BLAM! Box 2 practices words with double letter graphemes, adjacent consonants, and two-syllable words.
Ka-BLAM! Box 3 practises words containing consonant digraphs (two letters, one sound) and multisyllabic words.
