Kristin
Meet
Kristin is a literacy leader and intervention specialist dedicated to bridging research and practice. She partners with schools to strengthen structured literacy, explicit instruction, and early intervention—building teacher capability and improving outcomes for students who need it most.
Kristin is an experienced primary educator and literacy leader who has worked across all year levels since 2003. Her career spans classroom teaching, senior leadership, and specialist literacy roles, including Deputy Principal (2014–2018) and most recently Resource Teacher of Literacy, where she provided targeted intervention alongside in-class coaching and modelling.
Kristin is deeply passionate about the Science of Learning, structured literacy, and explicit instruction—particularly for students who experience difficulty learning to read and write.
She is a strong advocate for early identification and intervention and is committed to supporting neurodivergent learners through evidence-based, structured approaches that are both rigorous and practical.
Her professional learning reflects this commitment. Kristin has completed IMSLE and LETRS training (2023–2024), attended Anita Archer’s Explicit Instruction Trainers Academy in Portland, Oregon (2025), and is currently completing her Master’s in Education, specialising in Literacy Education. She actively engages with current research through podcasts, professional texts, and ongoing study.
Kristin recognises that education is in an exciting yet demanding phase. While the evidence base is clearer than ever, translating research into sustainable classroom practice can feel overwhelming. Through coaching and professional learning, she works to bridge that gap—making evidence-informed practice accessible, manageable, and achievable in real classrooms.
"Clear evidence gives us clarity. Practical implementation gives us impact.”
